Cataracts and State of the Art Vision Correction

Cataracts are the 'clouding" of the eye's natural lens, causing blurred vision, problems with glare and hindering night driving.

Cataract surgery is an outpatient procedure and only topical anesthesia is used. The cataract is broken up with ultrasound energy and the cloudy lens is removed. The cloudy lens is then replaced with an intraocular lens (IOL)

Customized Care for our Cataract Patients by an Experienced Surgeon.

For more than three decades, Dr Tin has been performing cataract surgery giving sight to millions of happy patients.

It has been his privilege as he taught cataract surgery for more than twenty eight years in the eye residency program to see the advancement of this sight restoring procedure. He was one of the adjunct investigators for the intraocular lens implants before it was approved by the FDA. He is also one of the first surgeons to perform the no stitch, no patch, small incisional cataract surgery using the foldable lens. The eye residents he taught microskills surgery to derived the latest techniques from his expertise.

Premium and Multifocal Lens

Prior to the premium intraocular lens becoming available, the standard monofocal IOL has been successfully implanted in millions of cataract patients who have experienced clear distance vision results, but the majority had to wear glasses after surgery, especially for near vision.

Now with some of the most modern intraocular lenses (IOLs), including ReSTOR® and ReZoom™, and state of the art equipment, Dr.Tin may be able to help you eliminate or dramatically reduce your dependence on glasses. Dr. Tin can insert a monofocal or multifocal intraocular lenses to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, and presbyopia. These premium lens will allow you to see far, near and in between. This means that many patients can read prescription bottles, magazines, newspapers, computer screens and street signs without having to wear glasses or bifocals.
